I already commented but I thought of another one: Schitt's Creek. It's like if Arrested Development had really beautiful character arcs and character development where they eventually learn to be content living without money. It follows the Rose family after they lose all of their money and they have to reside at the last place that they still technically own - A town that the family patriarch bought for their son as a joke years before the show takes place. It's so wonderful. Real-life father and son Eugene and Dan Levy are the writers and also star in it as father and son, as well as Catherine O'Hara. It also deals with sexuality, depression, drug abuse, and so many other issues in a unique way. It also shows a seemingly flamboyant gay character as something other than just the "gay best friend" with a really wonderful explanation of the character's sexuality and the sexualities of the other characters. It's so beautiful

I loved maniac! my brother is schizophrenic and jonah hill's character was the best representation of schizophrenia i've seen in anything. There are so many villainising portrayals of schiz in the media and it really does stigmatise the illness in damaging ways; which is really hard especially when my brother is literally the nicest and most pure person I know (and I'm not just saying that; everybody he meets loves him and it's always been this way) so it was really refreshing seeing a somewhat accurate depiction that didn't just make him out to be a horrible person- also statistically speaking schizophrenic people are much more likely to be victims of abuse than abusers and that being worked into the show was also really good for breaking down those harmful stereotypes. I mean the show was good for a number of reasons but I did really appreciate that~

Hi I loved this, and I laughed at your intro, but I just have to say Ashley, girl! You didn't flee LA for fear of failure. You took a look at your life and what you like and didn't like and made a big change. You grew and your goals and interests changed and that is okay and healthy. Also I feel like it's obvious in your videos that you use your film degree. You present your argument with wit and clarity, you share thoughtful and educated information in a way that makes me feel like I learned something without feeling preached to or bored. You're good at this, and I would argue that your path has very specifically brought you here. I'm not gonna tell you to be nicer to yourself because we all hear enough of that - I just wanted to tell you my thoughts. (even though it's probably smartest for youtubers to not read the commentsssss)

ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!! you probably already heard of it but it is also a sitcom (originally from netflix but then moved to poptv bc netflix sucks) that you LITERALLY laugh out loud but on the same episode also cry and proceeds to laugh again yk It talks about the life of a cuban family living in LA and its just so AMAZINGLY GOOD !!!!!!!! kinda sad you didnt add that to your list but please give odaat a chance and you will not regret it ♡ I also love The fosters which is a show abt a family w 2 married women and their child which are fostered and a lot of family drama going on and I FULLY recommend!!!!! Hello my twenties is a korean show about 5 college girls living together and shows their lives breaking a lot of how is a korean girl/women stereotype and i love it so so so so much!!! Cheese in the trap also a korean drama about college student Hongseol who gets in a relationship with a psychopath and throughout the show we keep seeing how bad the guy is but we also see all the sides of it so its really amazing as well im not sure if youre going to see this but i really hope you do!!! I love your videos so so much and i hope i can become just as successful as you are! you inspire me so much and im really thankful for that ♡ also enjoy my recommendations if you decide to watch!!!!!

If you haven't already watched it The Get Down on Netflix. It follows disco and R&B in the 70s and the struggles of inner-city POC. The backdrop of the 70s obviously makes for some gorgeous color schemes, but also brings about important issues that POC still face today. The acting is well done, the music is great. It's a Baz Luhrmann project as well which I personally really like him. Unfortunately, there's just one 2 part season, but it's really beautiful and I like it a lot.

okay you have to watch afterlife on netflix, it’s dark british comedy with literally the most realistic depiction of depression and overcoming grief yet the funniest shit i’ve ever seen. You’ll laugh and cry, so get your kleenex ready b. Also, the most feminist depiction of prostitution i’ve ever seen. They don’t make a big deal of her being a prostitute, it’s just her profession and she’s an amazing character. i seriously think you’d love it based on why you liked some of the shows you talked about. It’s Ricky Gervais but hear me out, i hate ricky gervais and didn’t want to watch but i promise it’s so good.

This was such an amazing video to watch during quarantine, so useful and actually recommending shows that aren't as hyped as they should beeeeee! I truly appreciate how much thought has gone into this, and the 20 minutes went so quick. SO excited to binge these because damn quarantine month 2 is getting old :") Also you've probably heard some of the hype around a new series called Normal People, if you survive the compulsory breakdown you'll have after watching it - I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! It's the most beautiful realism omg. About two Irish teens falling in and out of their lives through the ages of like 18-24 ish. Ugh I feel like my excitement for it means I'm incapable of explaining it properly. I wondered that if you still want to - what kinds of series/films etc would you make in future? You mentioned how you want to be similar to Phoebe Waller-Bridge! I can see your reliability, coming through as refreshingly as hers does. It does in your videos for sure. Anyway that was long. Big love, keep being amazing and look after yourself in this weird time. Don't work too hard
